Hope's Story
After high school, I lived in La Crosse, Wisconsin, for a year, training at Greenfield Stables with a woman who (at the time) was on the long list for the U.S. Dressage Team.
From there, I loaded up two horses in the back of a trailer, and drove 3,000 miles to the Pacific Northwest. For the next (nearly) 10 years, I taught and trained horses and riders dressage and jumping.

I've freelanced (still do), publishing in regional and national magazines such as Northwest Health, Victoria, Newsweek (a short-lived stringer), Destinations, and The Seattle Times. I also did a four-year stint at Microsoft as an online editor.
For the last nine years, though, I've worked in University Commications at my alma mater, SPU. It's a great place to work -- full of wonderful, creative people. I'm currenly an online communications specialist.
Closer to home, I have a 9-year-old daughter, a Jack Russell terrier who blogs, and a cranky cat who'd like to think she's in charge.
