Howard's Story
Hi all,
Life takes many turns, and this is about the turns my life has taken. After High School I enrolled in Lopp Junior College as I searched for my place in life. I knew there was more for me planned but I wasn't sure what it would be. As many of you know the late 60's was a time of both civil and world unrest. I was drafted out of college into the army and spent a year and a half in Vietnam. That sure made me grow up.
Upon returning to civilian life I returned to college. Attending the University of Illinois Circle and depaul University. My work endeavors finally took me and my growing family west.
I was a into the Corporate Structure at the time and I finally ended up in Disaster Recovery. This was a very interesting and intriguing venture. I traveled all over the country practicing for catostrophic events. Believe the have occured. From Train derailments ...Expand for more
and Tornados in themidwest to Hurricaines in Florida to the dire destruction on 9/11 on the East Coast. After that catastrophy I decided my health and my sanity need a rest. I retired from the communications industry and started to cocentrate on myself. I have just seny my last child off to college and I am spending a lot of time with my grandchildren. Believe me it is gratifying to see the little ones grow up.
I retired from the corporate in 2004 and have been enjoying my life as a tweener. (too young for social security but too old for upward moility). Life is good when you can dictate your time instead of having it dictated for you. My sons and I started a mobile car wash business in Denver called Beauty Wash which I quickly ducked out of (too much manual labor for a middle aged individual). So these days I am looking for less stressful and labor intensive endeavors.
