Howard's Story
When I left MVHS, I went to the University of Colorado in Boulder, where I fell in love with the mountains, but not my studies. I lived in the moutains and worked for 6 months, and then ended up in the Bay Area from 75-79. I worked in a Wine Bar (America's first), worked in a few wineries, and thoroughly enjoyed the hey dey of SF. My father got sick in Florida, I went down to help out and worked ...Expand for more
as a Sommelier at the Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach. From there I ended up running a retail wine shop in Boston, which I'm still doing 29 years later. I live North of Boston and am good friends with anotherMVHS alumnus, Gary Blattberg. We've been known to raise a few glasses together over the years. I've never been able to shake my love of hoops, which I developed on the playgrounds of Mt. Vernon.
