Life My years at Verdugo became "stepping stones" for my continued interests and future vocation. I attended Cal State Northridge, received a BA in Art and went on to earn a teaching credential. I taught for 2 1/2 years at Maclay Junior High in Pacoima (I even taught one summer at VHHS in the very same room that I had previously "raised hell in" as a fledgling artist) before entering the Air Force in 1970. In the Air Force, I served as an illustrator, motion picture photographer, and an educational specialist. While in the Air Force, I was able to complete an MS from USC that I started on before entering the service. Following the Air Force, I took a position at the University of Texas in Odessa, TX, where I was media production coordinator for the school's learning resources center. In 1974, I attended the University of Texas at Austin, as both a post graduate student and instructor, and did advanced coursework in art, radio-TV-film, and educational technology. In 1978, I left UT to take an assistant professorship at Middle Tennessee State University at Murfreesboro.
