Hubert Ball:  

Life Of course everyone knows my first name is Hubert and everyone that I knew called me Hubie, which that is what everyone calls me now. After graduation from H.S., In October of 1966 I went to the Indianapolis police department and became a Cadet, I learned how to classify fingerprints, take ballistics on bullets, I was able to learn all about the Police department. I stayed on Police department until Janurary of 1969 went into the army became a military policeman, was stationed in Colorado at Fort Carson, I also worked in the stockade guarding prisoners, I shot two prisoners escaping did not kill them, after that I was transferred to Mannheim Prison in Germany, I was involved in about one riot a month at the prison, Mannheim was the third largest military stockade in the world, I was beat up by prisoners and recieved approx 90 some stitches in my head there. Oh also I was shot twice in Colorado once in the butt by a staff sgt who had beat his wife up and said he was not going to jail so he shot me in the butt with buck shot as I was trying to hide behind a tree, and was also shot once in the prison by a prisoner who had made a zip gun and shot me in the right side which entered between two ribs and lodged there without going inside and damaging any organs. Before graduating H.S. I trained dogs and showed them in dogs show around the united states, I was also able to learn some training with a German police department while over seas. I returned home after the service in November 1970, and in Feburary of 1971 I joined the Indianapolis Police department graduating after 26 weeks of school, then I patroled the streets of Indpls, I have worked in Vice, narcotics, was a fire arms instructor, I went to the K-9 division. Where at one point I became one of the trainers for the department, then I wrtoe the original certification for street police dogs, narcotics, and bomb dogs...Expand for more
