Hugh's Story
Life
After leaving SBHS I left college in 67 to join the US Army in the electronics field. I was convinced to go to Officer Candidate School and after I was commissioned I spent years in Korea, Kentucky and Vietnam. Leaving the service in 1975 to finish college at Florida State University. I have a daughter Stephany, Granddaughter Alexandra :) and a son, Hugh Micheal.
I worked for Electronic Data Systems (Ross Perot) for 31 years. This took me all over the USA and Europe. I lived and worked in England from 2003 until summer 2006 as regional director for a joint venture formed in 2005 with responsibility across Europe. It was during my working in the UK and London when I met Jean.
I thoroughly enjoyed searching my ancestry in Scotland and love Europe despite the weather.
In 2006 I relocated to Massachusetts working in Boston and living in a small town in south Mass called Attleboro. I NEVER :) became accustomed to being a rail commuter each morning to get into the city where I have responsibility for our US Govenment business for the commonwealth.
Late 2007 I took early retirement from Electronic data Systems (EDS) after 30 years and 7 months.
In April 2008, I have started work for a new company providing similar computer services and am the account manager for our business with the State Of New Hampshire.
September 15,2009 I married the lovely lady I met in London several years ago,Jean Ann Davies. We had a memorable wedding in NYC with my son and Jean's two daughters.
In September 2010 I left...Expand for more
the temporary role I had in California. We took the opportunity to take a month long trip across California and all the major attractions between California and Texas. It was a blast! We are now living in Frisco Texas. Jean says we are retired, I say I am currently not working.
BUT, in the meantime busier than enjoying the now finally restored Corvette I ordered new in 1972 and working on our 1969 Mustang and involved with the group of Officer Candidate School graduates and the book we are writing on OCS at Fort Knox.
Hope to hear from all of you.
Hugh
College
Attended and graduated from Florida State University after leaving the service in 1975. The years leading up to Bowden were pretty boring... Go noles!
Military
Spent eleven years active left as an Army Major. Spent two years in Korea and a tour in Vietnam as an advisor to the 22nd Infantry Battalion and 14th Armored Calvary Regiments both Vietnamese, on the Cambodia Laos border. Also taught in the US Army Armor school at Fort Knox Kentucky and commanded a basic training company there for several years.
On memorial day 2007 I received a number of questions whilst posting that I am a life member Disabled Veterans of America, Vietnam Veterans of America and holder of two Bronze Stars. I am most proud of the one awarded by the former Republic of Vietnam for actions on the Cambodian border. I was a lucky one.
Always remember the sons and daughters whose lives are in harms way every day we enjoy our lives in these United States of America!
