Hurmon Hamilton:  

Life Hurmon Hamilton Jr. was born in San Francisco, and raised in Coushatta, Louisiana by Rev. Clarence and Ola Batchie Berry. Hurmon graduated from Coushatta High School in 1982 and went on to attend Grambling State University (GSU). There he was elected Student Body President(SGA) and became the first SGA President in GSU's history to be elected to the Louisiana Board of State Colleges and Universities. Hurmon later became the first and GSU student invited to give the commencement address to his graduating class in 1987. Prior to this, in 1986, Hurmon accepted the Call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ for the rest of his life. In 1987, Hurmon graduated from GSU with a duel degree in Philosophy and History. In 1990, he graduated from San Francisco Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity Degree. Six months later,he became the Senior Pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church USA in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. During the next three years, in addition to his Pastoral duties, Hurmon served as an adjunct professor at University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In 1994, Hurmon became the Senior Pastor of the Historic Roxbury Presbyterian Church USA, in Boston, Massachusetts, where he served for over 17 years.
