Much has changed in my life since my days of youth. Back then my main worry was primarily related to who liked me or did not. I also carried alot of anger that was unmanaged because I did not have a reliable mentor to guide me through alot of the daily troubles I was exposed to at home and at school. Let's face it.... the high school counselors were not there for those of us who did not appear to have a successful future. This type of problem continues to exist in schools today, we (by way of tax dollars) pay for ineffective school administrators. I want to clarify that I DO NOT place all in this category. Much changed for me once I was told by my high school counselor that my best option was to go to technical school opposed to college because I did not possess the discipline for studies. I am not making this up! I was determined to "show em", and that I did! I went to college, it took me 4 yrs to get through Junior college (remedial courses first) and then transferred to CSUS and secured my Bachelors Degree.
