Ina's Story

Here is the short version of the last 50 years. After FOHI 2 years at Chaffey College, 1 year at Upland College and then on to the new San Bernardino College now University. Got my BA there and then teaching certificate. Went to work in elementary education with Rialto Unified School District for 34 years. Somewhere in there got a Masters Degree from Azusa Pacific. Retired in 2002 and very pleased to be retired. I have published 3 books with Tate Publishing and have another ready to send to them and one in the works. All are Christian devotionals. I adopted two girls with special needs and they are now 31 and 29. It was not an easy thing to be a single parent and I don't think I'd really tell people to go for that if they weren't ready to take the time and energy along with all of the frustrations that usually are shared by a mom and dad on to a single set of shoulders. Actually I am glad to have them as my girls since they are really nice kids- and I guess I am biased but people think they are when they meet them. I still live in Fontana and have since second grade. Home is a great place to be since I have learned a lot on the computer and can see different places around the world that I once wanted to see in person. Now I see it all and don't have to see the sidelights that are kind of like being on the passenger train as it goes through the back sides of the city before you reach your destination. We have enjoyed our 50th reunion that took quite a bit of work but it was worth all of the time and doing. I went to my mother's 50th many years ago and enjoyed myself immensely but then she had a class of 34 and we have many more times that amount. Trying to find everyone was like a needle in a haystack and it taught me more about the computer and what it can do to be helpful. ed to learn photoshop and how to process digital pictures. I got a camera but so far it is still in the package. Too bad- I missed catching the new puppy chasing her tail for the first time or trying to play frisbee with a disk that was bigger than she is. But the pictures are in my head and heart as are so many of you. HAVE A BLESSED YEAR! Two more years have past and home is still where the heart is. I love making the place look nice and thinking it is a sanctuary of peace. I now have the time to indulge in research of the questions that crop up into my head. I've often said that I have a trivial brain that retains bits and pieces of information. Still true and funny how they crop up at the most opportune times. Today is a class luncheon that occurs every 3 months. Many people have been amazed that we are able to keep in touch and I think they are a bit envious too. If any of you are in the area use the phone and let us know we will be pleased to take time and sit and just gab. So many of you have done wondrous things that fascinate me. You are strong, caring and the value systems are supportive of all that is good. We are truly blessed to be able to share. MANY MORE BLESSINGS TO ALL! Oct. 2015- A drought year but we just had a bit of rain and the grass looks like I am caring for it. TRUE since I let my yard guys go and bought a push mower, battery powered trimmer and a light weight blower. They are fun to use and I m NOT working like crazy thinking I have to have it all done in one day. The new thought is "bit by bit" which works quite well. Been wondering why the ones who have come after us are so NOW for everything. I think that anticipation is more fun. It can be kind of like waiting for gift time and getting to open the packages I wondered about. Hope we all get to have the wonder in each day. BLESSINGS AND STAYING YOUNG IN HEART!
