Ira's Story
Following graduation, I attended UCLA thinking I wanted to be a doctor. Turns out, I didn't apply myself too well, and didn't do well in Organic Chemistry (sorry Mr. Falb). And, I participated in activities that made me enjoy the outdoor environment more. So, I switched majors to Ecosystems Analysis. Got an M.A. from UCLA in BioGeography with a specialty in Water Resources Engineering. Went to work for the Army Corps of Engineers helping communities prepare for flooding and restoration of rivers. .S. in Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Management. After the required 3 years following that year-long program, I left for the private sector, where I've been for the past 32 years, now semi-retired.
I've been married 40 years as of July 2022, with one married daughter and one granddaughter.
I play guitar, golf, and grow tomatoes--all on an intermediate level. LOL. (Well, I must admit I am an expert tomato grower!)
I do think about my classmates from time to time, but only keep in touch with a few, and even then not that regularly.
