Irene's Story
Life
Hi, I'm Irene- Lourdes HS Class of '81, UIC Class of '85 (and Blessed Agnes Grade School class of '77 -- I think that covers everything!). I work part-time as a Human Resources Assistant for a VA Hospital,although I've had various jobs since high school & college, mainly in the legal field as a legal secretary/assistant. In college I majored in Communications and took many writing classes. That took me on a little different course to advertising. My real passion is creative writing, mainly children's stories and I'm working on a few book ideas that I'd like to see published some day. For now, that just remains a hobby.
I got married in 1989 to a man I used to know when we were kids. We both belong to Sokol - a family fitness/gymnastics organization, and we got reacquainted at a fund raiser almost 20 years ago, and the rest is history. We have ...Expand for more
3 kids, and my husband has a 23 year old son from a previous marriage. We have an old home that needs lots of work and we've tried to rehab it ourselves, with some much needed help from handy friends through the years. It's nowhere near where I'd like it to be, but hopefully the economy will pick up soon & we can afford to complete it. (I'll probably be too old to care by then!)
Most of my time revolves around the kids' activities. They are all musicians, so between lessons, recitals and concerts and sports activities, we're pretty busy.
Other than that, we live pretty uneventful lives. We have many dear friends & family, and enjoy spending time with them. In the summer we spend a lot of time up at my family's cottage in Michigan.
I would sure like to hear from my old classmates and catch up on their lives and remenice about the "old days!"
