Irene's Story
Wow! Doesn't seem like 30 years to me since we graduated!? I sure don't feel that old! This summer, Tom & I will be married 25 years! Met at the Dolphin in Sodus Point the summer we graduated(Thanks Gwen for taking me out that fateful night!) We have three healthy, great kids..Tim, 22, just graduated from RIT as a Packaging Science Engineer & has been working in Boston. Tyler, 2o, has a semester to go at MCC & will be continuing on as an Elementary Ed major to become a teacher. Anna, my beautiful daugher, age 16, is alot like me--- fun-loving, enjoys people and is adventurous....trying our patience, but overall a great girl! She will be a senior this fall & was accepted into the New Visions program to prepare for a career in the medical field.
I'm in my 19th year at NRW as a Middle School Counselor...counseling kids, parents and often teachers!! Some may wonder how I am guiding youth,...Expand for more
but I love it! My experiences & challenges have helped me to help kids. As Mr. Sherrill once told me in my early years at the MS--you can't judge kids during adolescence, they often become great people despite their behaviors in MS. It's true! I love them all & find the good in the toughest kids! Never a dull moment, always changing, always challenging--keeps me young!
In my spare time, I enjoy going to the gym, camping, boating, jet skiing, hiking and cooking. We often host gatherings at our house in the summer on Port Bay! I feel blessed that my boys, despite being in their 20's enjoy being home and hanging with their parents! Our times together are precious!
Life has had it's challenges and trials, but overall, it's been great and I am fortunate to have a wonderful husband and family!
Hope to hear from my classmates and alum from NRW and hope to see some of you at our reunion!!
