Irene's Story
I attended college at CCSU right after HS graduation and earned my BS degree in business education and my MS degree in education/psychology.
The short form of the story is that I retired in 2002 after 32 years teaching high school in Wallingford, CT. I began at Lyman Hall H.S. 70-71, transferred to Sheehan H.S. from 71-97, then returned to LHHS from 97-02 when I retired. I had a wonderful career with countless fond memories and an occasional nightmare. I was truly blessed to have worked with so many fine young people and inspiring, talented teachers over the years and I thank them all deeply. They kept me young at heart.
As a young adult, I used to be very active with tennis, skiing and horses. Mishaps damaged enough body parts so that the only current activity I do is some walking. I loved to dance but I'm too stiff and sore to participate.

the treatment side of drug addiction as a psychotherapist and was in that field when he retired. We've been together for 32 years, til death do us part. I have known transcendent love and it transformed me.
We live a block from the loveliest public beach in Milford
with wide streets, sidewalks and little traffic. It is idyllic.
We moved here in the fall of '91 and are quite content.
After a brief rest period to enjoy the free life of retirement, I began working as the sole office support person in an outpatient behavioral health clinic in Milford which is run by Catholic Charities, Inc. This position utilizes most of the skills I developed while teaching and provides opportunities for me to help people, particularly when they suffer crises in their lives. I need to give back some of my blessings for which I am very grateful.
While I have no children of my own, my stepson Colin S. has a son Colin M. who was born in 1989. They are two very important people in my life.
