Irene's Story
Hi There All My Friends from DC !!
Wow, I guess this did take me a long time, but I am going to try. I have been a Registered Nurse for many years and I presently work for the Dept. of Health in Charleston,SC. I am a Home Health Nurse caring for Veterens. I have three grown children; a son is 38, daughter just 30 and my youngest son is 28 (rock musician,of course). We all live in Summerville SC . Life here is certainly different and, at times,I really miss NY and civilization. The South is really pretty and the people are so sweet, you just get along with everyone. From 2001 til 2004 I had a fantastic job working as a private nurse for a wealthy elderly gentleman and traveled extensively on his yacht in the Mediterranean in spring and summer and South Fla in winter, traveling through the Islands. I never had so much fun in my entire life! I met s...Expand for more
ome really impressive people and traveled to places I could never have dreamed of like Monte Carlo, St.Tropez, (The French and Italian Riviera). After he passed away at age of 93, I stayed in Florence Italy in an ancient apartment, fell in love, studied Italian, art, then, had to come home (where I subsequently turned back into a pumpkin). My story is almost exactly like the movie, "under the Tuscan Sun", living in Tuscany, only, sadly, the happy ending? I'm still waiting for it...bummer :( . I would love to hear from my old friends and classmates from D.C. and feel really sad that "she" is gone. I will never regret going to such a great school, especially now when the world has changed so radically. I was so lucky to have made a choice which I never thought would affect me so very much.
Much love and peace to all who read this note :) Irene
