My Life
Classmates, before I get into my life,I wanted to say that if I don’t continue this membership and you would like to connect, just Google my current name, Iris J. Arenson-Fuller and visit my web site or locate me on Facebook: I also do free consultation sessions for my Life coaching practice (Life and Loss Transformation/Life Reinvention) if you are interested in my work as a coach who helps clients with life stage, family and relationship changes.
I am still a writer. I have been published both on line and in a variety of print publications over the years. I sometimes do local poetry readings and love doing them. I founded and ran a non-profit international adoption agency for close to 30 years... The adoption industry has undergone some serious changes recently that are not all aligned with my own personal values and goals, so I called it quits.. I do not feel the changes meet the needs of children worldwide, or of the parents who are eager to make a lifelong commitment to these kids. I have done a lot of re-thinking about my mission(s) and purposes. This led me to pursue professional coaching accreditation and to establish a private practice around Life Stage, Family, Relationship Changes (Big Changes, Hard Choices, Second Chances).
My practice specializes in areas of hard life transitions, widows and widowers, grief & loss (and reinvesting in life), divorce adjustment, aging gracefully, career changes, creativity finding or expanding, adoption, infertility, birth parent grief and moving forward, aging or ill family members caregiving issues.....I have many interests and areas of experience. Most coaching is done via phone and email, so I can work with clients from just about anywhere. I have, in fact, had several Lafayette alumni as clients who fo...Expand for more

I have four children, one of whom I adopted after I was widowed. Three of my kids are adopted. My first husband and I married young (College sweethearts) in 1966. We lost him to a tragic fire in 1982, shortly after we founded the adoption agency I directd. I re-married after more than 14 years of widowhood. I have two granddaughters, One graduated from college at 20, and lives in the SF Bay Area, and the other is in elementary school and lives nearby.
My husband is a now-retired cardiology RN, photographer and used to have a video/documentary business.
I would enjoy hearing from people I knew at Lafayette and those Kim and I knew at Goddard and in San Francisco.
I am a survivor who has tried to find meaning and positives from darkness and despair.
If you would like to, you may contact me and I will send you my e-mail, website url and blog address if you are interested. Ideas for articles and posts for my blog are always appreciated, too! I don't quite understand the guestbook here and if I am supposed to respond in some way when people visit. You can also google me if you want to get in touch with me, through my blog, FB or my websites.
I offer one to one coaching via phone and email and also run inexpensive groups at various times. One popular group is called Widow to Widow Circle of Hope, for widows of all ages and stages and is free. I have a new group, phone and web accessible, that will go into much greater depth, called Widows Empowerment Coaching Club. This is a monthly phone group, modestly priced. . I have offered a similar group for Widowers too.
Contact me if you wish to get in touch. FB is probably the best place.
