Iris's Story
I am married to James Blaisdell since 1964. We have two children, James living in Washington, DC and Kevin living in San Francisco. James is a Captain for United Airlines and a Lt. Col. in the Air National Guard with 3 trips it Iraq behind him. Kevin is a computer engineer working in Silicone Valley for a a startup. Jim and I are living in Palm Desert where we moved for jobs but now have retired. It is right next to Palm Springs. However, since March 2011 we have been living in our new home in Gardnerville, Nevada just south of Reno.
We like to travel, just went to Chile and Argentina last year (Patagonia). In 2010 I went to Greece and met my husband and son in Germany for a family reunion. This year we went to Hawaii for my husband's 55th reunion. We also ride gaited horses. We have a Basset Hound who is capable of howling a lot.
I am interested in education topics, horses, reading, classical music, cooking, and gardening.

second grade last year. I still substitute teach and tutor.
At this point, I am totally retired and am looking for interesting things to do in my new home.
Now it is January 2015. Who would ever have thought we would make it to 2015? The mountains you see in the picture are the Sierras from our deck.
We have added a grandchild to our family in 2013. Her name is Lila Violi. She lives temporarily in Germany with her parents.
i am the education director for our local museum and the sergeant at arms for my horse club. I also tutor a Mexican student in English.
Last year we went to Williams burg, Virginia to visit our new grand daughter. This year we celebrated our 50th anniversary with an 18 day trip to the Canadian National Parks by train. We are presently getting ready to visit Tulum, Mexico with our youngest son. Then it will be on to Germany for a family reunion there, not only is my eldest living there, but all of my relatives live there also.
