Isabel's Story
Life
Been in the Army for the past 20 years. No kids have 2 dogs and two cats that do not get along. Returning home to Albuquerque in December of 05. Be retiring from the Army.
Workplace
I am currently working in Human Resource Department of the US Forest Service.
Military
I joined the Army in February of 86. Did basic training in Fort Jackson, South Carolina. From there I went to my Advanced training at Ft. Lee, Va. as a Water Treatment Specialist. Upon graduation I was sent to Wiesbaden, Germany for 2 years. Than I was sent to Ft. Ord California in Monterey California. Stayed there 2 years than I was sent to Kaiserslautern, Germany for 3 years. While there I deployed to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Strom with the 1st of the 10th Special Forces Group, returned after the War to Germany and 3 weeks later returned to Iraq for a humanitarian mission called Operatio...Expand for more
n Provide Comfort. Upon completion of that mission I returned to Germany. Than I was sent to Ft. Campbell Kentucky for 3 years decided to change jobs so I went to school in Ft. Rucker Alabama for Flight Operations training for 6 weeks. After graduation I was sent to Seoul, Korea for a year and back to Ft. Campbell for 3 years than back to Korea for another year. Left Korea for Ft. Benning, Ga. assigned to an Areomedical Evacuation Unit. Where I am currently assigned. Six months after signing into Ft. Benning we deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom we were deployed for six months returned home and 8 months later we were sent to Tikrit, Iraq for a year deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. My unit was responsible for evacuating injured soldiers and coalition forces off the battlefield. Now I am looking forward to retirement in December of 05.
