Isabell's Story
Hi! I hope some of you will still remember me. Wile in high school, I was very shy but that has change considerably, probably because of my life experiences.
After graduation in 1938, I took a federal civil service test on which I scored well (thanks to all the excellent teachers I had at TC HI). As a result of that test in 1940,
had a job offer in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Army Ordnance Dept. Job offers were anything but plentiful so I eageerly accep...Expand for more
ted. I was fortunate to find room and board in a very nice home in the northwest section of Washington where some other young people lived and where the landlady was a very motherly and loving peaon. My boss at that time was an executive "borrowed" from Link Belt Corp. in Chicago. When his tour of duty in Washiington was finished, he asked me to move to Chicago to accept a posiition as secretary to the president. I had a friend iving in Chicago at that time which made it eAsy to accept to accept an offer
