Isabelle's Story
post graduation attended college with merchandising and clothing design in mind; got tired of school and stopped. Worked full time in merchandising until a relative persuaded me to join her in medicine. I went back to school nights for YEARS while working full time. Got my credential and moved on in the medical profession. Started as a file clerk with my relative (who taught me everything from statistics to coding and managing) and worked my way up to manager/director of Medical Record departments at several hospitals in the San Fernando Valley. Got tired of being the "boss" and became a medical coding supervisor at a large facility in the valley for 28 years; interfacing with the 500+ medical staff on a daily basis, until I retired in 2011. 40 year...Expand for more
s in the medical business!! Strange how Dr.'s become friends rather than the "Dr" one usually keeps at arms length. I miss them. I learned a great deal about medicine from them over the years.
Family and leisure- no kids, Hubby and I cruise/travel (my husband is ex Navy and loves the sea) extensively when we get the inclination. I love quilting, gardening, cooking and geneology searching. I used to ice skate but gave it up. Falling is not an option these days.
Since 2019 I've taken up Boxing classes with my hubby who has Parkinson's disease. Boxing is such a cardio workout you don't need to go to the gym. Go to "Rock Steady Boxing VC/LA for Parkinson's" on line to see what we do. If you know someone with Parkinson's have them check it out.
