Ivette's Story
Life
After graduating from St. Pius in 1983, I became a FT secretary working for attorneys which I absolutely hated. Although I wasn't interested in going to college at the time (I pretty much only cared about dancing), I ultimately continued my education and am currently attending Florida International University in Miami, Florida. After taking several breaks from my studies to have children, I found myself pleasantly consumed by my children and, although I have not obtained my degree, I still leave that door open. I have worked very hard in the field of criminal justice and hold a great position with the federal government. With God's blessing, I will be promoted upon receiving my degree and continue my career with challenges and all.
I moved to Miami, Florida when I was 24 and have since gotten married and we had two beautiful girls, currently ages 7 and 10. P.S. For those you knew me well b...Expand for more
ack then, I ended up giving them the names I've had picked since age 14. Well, my hubby liked the names too. Can you guess what they are? I never thought motherhood would be so challenging and rewarding.
I describe my life right now this way: Obtaining an education was hard, my career somewhat difficult but raising my babies was a blast. I am having the time of my life with them and I thank GOD everyday for allowing me to be with them. My whole weekend revolves around them and I am enjoying every minute of it (even when they drive me nuts.)
I had a great time at St. Pius until I graduated in 1983. Unfortunately, everyone who told me I would lose touch with all my friends from HS was right. Luckily for me, I've remained very good friends with one person. I have great memories from then, but I have even better ones now with my children.
