Jim's Story
I joined the Navy a few weeks after graduation ... went to boot camp in Great lakes Illinois ... then on to "A" school in Millington Tennessee to become an Aviation Hydraulics Mechanic or AMH. I worked on airplanes at NAS Milton Florida until 1978. I have been living in Bradley Illinois for the past 20 some years and have been working at Bimba Manufacturing Company for almost 31 years. My academic achievements include a Journeyman's Card in Machine Repair from the United States Department of Labor, and an Associates in Applied Sciences in Industrial Machine Repair from Kankakee Community College as well as several technical Certificates. ical technician at work. I work on metal cutting automated CNC equipment, manual lathes, mills, and associated production and support equipment. I was married in Bay City Michigan in 1981 and shared almost 32 years with the most remarkable women, wife, mother, and soul mate ... Christine Ann "Stalker" Griffiths. She was a 1976 TL Handy graduate who I had met on a blind date just after I got out of the Navy in 1978 ... We fell in love at first sight. She passed away in my arms from a stroke on December 17th 2012. I am still quite devastated to tell you the truth. I have 2 children a son 27, and a daughter 21.
