JERRY's Story
After high school I spent 21 years in the military; 4 years in the Air Force and 17 years in the Marine Corps before retiring in 1996. 15 years were spent in the U.S. and 6 years overseas including 4 combat tours. I was hired by the Marine Corps as a Defense Contractor after retiring and worked at Marine Corps Base, Quantico, VA. After 7 years I was then hired as a Federal employee by the Marine Corps doing the same job I did while on active duty. y I earned my B.S. from U.C,.an MBA from Webster University and a Masters Degree in military Studies from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
I've been married for 45 years and have two kids and two grand-kids.
We raise cattle, sheep, and chickens to go along with our 13 dogs and 4 cats.
We raise our own food by way of the livestock and the vegetables we grow from our garden. I added 14 fruit trees and we now make our own cider. We also have solar power which generates the electric for our house and other needs. We try to be as self-sufficient as we can and stay away from processed foods as much as possible.
