Sue's Story
Life
12/6/2008 -- Has it been a year already? Not a lot new this year. We did spent about a month in Tucson in the spring. Not my favorite time of year to be there, but we did a little ATVing and gold prospecting. This year we'll be sitting tight in Montana. Jack started kidney dialysis on Sept. 2nd, and goes to St. Pete's in Helena three days a week to dialyze. Just last week we were at Sacred Heart in Spokane for a pre-transplant evaluation. Very interesting, and things look good. We'll find out on the 18th (Jack's birthday) if he's approved to go on the transplant list. If there are any of you out there with O+ blood who want to donate a kidney, let ahold of me! Seriously, if you're not already an organ donor, please give it some consideration and make the update on your driver's license. In the meantime, your thoughts and prayers will be much appreciated. In the meantime, we hope you have the happiest of holidays.
12/8/2007 -- Almost Christmas. Just wanted to say it was great to see those who made it to our 40th class reunion in August. A big thanks to Mike & Susan Smith for coordinating the reunion and to Terry & Judy Salo for hosting our Friday-night get-together.
Jack & I are heading back to Tucson today for our third trip down this year. We are enjoying the Tucson sun, and landing later today where the temps are 40 degrees higher than here at home will be a nice break.
Happy Holidays to you all!
October 31, 2006 -- Changes -- always changes. As reported under my workplace, since I retired on 5/5/2004, I've been working with my significant other J...Expand for more
ack in his Island Oasis business. Well, on 9/5/2006, he sold the business & after working with the new owners for a month is now retired. For the third time. I've opted to stay on with the new owners & am working 3 days a week. I enjoy my Thursday through Sunday 4-day weekends! In July, we bought a condo at St. Marie, north of Glasgow, and have spent several weekends there already. We're looking forward to hunting & leaning to fish for walleye at Fort Peck. I'm also happy to get to visit with Judy (Hetherton) Nelson & her husband when we go to the condo. In September, we bought a place in Tucson. We'll rent it out this year, and next winter will spend a month or so enjoying the warmth when it's cold back home. It was great to attend the Friday-night function at Chuck & Denise's for the Class of 66's 40th reunion. I hope the Class of 1967 has as good a turnout & as good a time as the Class of 1966 did, but they're a tough act to follow!
Workplace
I'm fortunate to have retired May 5, 2004, after a little over 35 years with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Montana. Now I'm enjoying working with my life partner (Jack) in his frozen beverage distributing business. We have an office & warehouse in Clancy. The product & equipment we represent is made by Island Oasis. Our territory is Montana, northern Wyoming, southern Idaho, and Jackpot, Nevada. It's great fun. Jack & I also owned the Singletree Saloon & Steakhouse in Clancy for 8 1/2 years. We sold it three years ago. That was also a great experience, but a lot of hours. I'm happy now with just the one business.
