Jack's Story
I got caught up in the 60's...whole hippy deal. Dropped out of Highline Community College, grabbed my guitar and rode my thumb to Haight Ashbury in 1967.
By 1968 I was faced with a choice: Walla Walla Penitentiary or Vietnam. I picked Nam. Served as a Drill Sgt. At Ft Lewis
And during this time I cultivated one hell of a drug & alcohol habit.
Blew through a young marriage, dropped out of a few more schools and ended up homeless until 1973-4 when I got off both booze, drugs and welfare.
Next 3 years I played guitar with "A Ragtime Rodeo." 2 man act, we opened for Waylon Jennings among others.
Act blew up in 76 and I headed to Austin Texas for more music.
Well a few more careers: ran a ranch- Pinecrest Farms in ...Expand for more
Smithville, Texas. Graduated from a trade school as a carpenter.
Got a sales job in 1981 selling life insurance and funds for American Express, and I began studying Money. Became a CFP.
1986 I started my own Company Austin Asset Management Co.
Sold it 2014
Back to playing Guitar. I am now raising money for Austin Classical Guitar. I have 3 CDs out and give them away in exchange for donations to further musical education in schools.
