I have been living in Nova Scotia since 1981, a Reagan Refugee as it were. The woman I was married to at the time was from here, but after 6 years decided marriage wasn't for her. A year later, contemplating moving back to California, or to Boston, I was introduced to Rachel for the purposes of a blind date, my first, as I had talked to her on the phone but we hadn't met face to face. Twenty years later, three kids, 11,14,and16, the usual ups and downs, weddings funerals etc we are still happily married and enjoy each others company. We have traveled often to california and maui for those same family gatherings, weddings and funerals.
