Jackie's Story
Life
Short bio: I have lived in Menlo Park since 1980--the Allied Arts neighborhood reminds me a lot of Willow Glen! I came here for a financial planning job, got married, quit working and had my son Jon in 1987. Got divorced when he was three, went into real estate, and here I am, selling residential real estate from San Francisco to San Jose! Well, I slowed down quite a bit the last years and am working by referral only. Having a good time, I enjoy helping my clients achieve their goals.
My son graduated from UC Berkeley in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, moved to Paris for a research job for 15 months. He is now working for Square in San Francisco, where he lives with roommates.
I suppose my hobbies are health/fitness, gardening, some travel, and a LOT of recreational bike riding recently.. I swim, go to the gym, and practice yoga. I began to learn to paint watercolor in 2016 and I love it! That was a 10 year goal. It is astonishing to me what comes out of my hands!!
My mother, whom some of you knew, passed in 2014 at age 94. She was an angel: born on Christmas and died on Easter! We sold the big house on Che...Expand for more
rry Avenue. That was a lot of letting go! Yes, it was Copple Central for 62 years!)
The family has scattered to the winds for the time being. There is a sadness, but also a sense of freedom. I am falling back in love with life, a slower life where connections mean the most to me, and I am content to leave the rat race to the next generation.
.
My beautiful sister Peg, class of '64, died August 24, 2010. She staged a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer and was vital until the end. Now I only have four sisters and one brother.
Sunsets, the beach, boogie boarding, a good movie, a good laugh, nature's beauty; these are the things I love. I have added mindfulness meditation and lovingkindness to my spiritual journey, which is till a pretty big part of my life (Remember Stone Church? Now I have Menlo.Church).
I feel lucky to have made it to this more joy-filled time period. Still fit, financially ok, life is a little slower and there is time for fun! Just got a new photo through my work. Long hair is fun!
My cell number: 650-465-9160, if you are ever in town and want to get together and go over old times (or new).
