Jackie's Story
It's hard to believe it's been over 20 years....where did the time go??
After Madison, I went to SAC for a while and worked for a few different companies doing sales and later on transferred to UTSA for a couple of years until I met my husband, Spencer, while I was in Corpus Christi for work. He was from New Orleans and was there for work as well. One short month after we went out on our first date, we decided to move in together and I moved to New Orleans where he was living (everyone thought I was crazy). We lived in New Orleans for about 10 years. I transferred to the University of New Orleans and finished up there with a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree and was recruited to come to DC to work for the Federal Govt. We are glad to be out of the hurricane zone and on higher ground. Shoveling snow is nowhere near as bad as evacuating, but I really do miss all our friends and family in N'awlins-not to mention the food!!! LOL.
I currently work at the US Census Bureau Headquarters just outside of DC as a Program Analyst and Spencer is a Senior Project Manager for a contracting company in Northern Virginia. We have been together for almost 13 years now and have been married for 5 years. We don't have any children yet, but have an adorable lab mix dog named Payton that will turn 10 in May:)
