Jacob's Story
Life
In 2005 I graduated from the UC Berkeley and am currently employed as a social worker for Shelter Network, a non profit designed to advocate for homeless families on the peninsula. Here is a brief run-down of the major events in my life since 1997.
In June of 1999 I moved to New York where I lived for two years helping Latin American immigrants, mostly undocumented, get on their feet. We helped to provide housing, networks for employment, legal services, and other necessities. Incidentally I achieved fluency in Spanish, basic proficiency in Portuguese and some Italian.

here I began working for the Migrant Education program of the San Joaquin County school board. I was doing the same things, but here in CA I worked mainly with a Mexican and Central American population, and focused on helping disadvantaged youth obtain GEDs.
In Sept of 2002 I married my HS sweetheart. We currently live in Oakland, but my be relocating out of state within the next few years. The prices of homes in the Bay Area are unbelievable. My wife goes to Samuel Merritt College of Nursing in Oakland and works at Summitt Medical center in that city. We have no children but live with our two wonderful Pugs Samson and Maggie.
