Jacqueline's Story
I moved up to South Boardman (north of Cadillac) 15 years ago when my late husband Joe Hohler Jr. took a job in Traverse City. He was killed in 2005 in a motorcycle accident. I worked at a small factory in Kalkaska as a 3rd. shift supervisor and retired sometime after Joe was Killed. I worked part time at the Yankee Boy Restaurant until it closed.
I remarried almost 3 years ago and we found out Jim has ALS. Most of my time is spent around the house which we have remolded to fit his needs. I spend a lot of tiime in the yard with planting flowers and feeding the birds. I ...Expand for more
have 3 inside cats and feed 4 outside cats and their 14 kittens. Last year I had 15 kittens and found homes for all of them. I have found homes for 2 so far and I'm hoping that's a good sign.
Jim lost his battle with ALS on the 13 of Jan. 2013. I was his care giver till the end so I guess that I was suppose to take on that roll. He was positive right up to the end. A wonderful person and so glad I was there for him. I am in the process of remodeling my kitchen and can't wait for it to be done. My yard has taken a back seat to the kitchen but I will get it in shape too.
