Jacquelyn's Story
Life
I have been retired almost 18 years now....from State of CA employment, having survived four Governors in 21 years! Have a little consulting business, as well as a non-profit for services for vulnerable populations, especially foster children and senior citizens. Am retired from the Executive Council of CA-AARP, advising on health policy. Currently represent consumers on the Quality Improvement Organization Board of Medicare, improving access to care and quality outcomes of health care. Also Board member of River Oak Center for Children, a wonderful non-profit serving high-risk children in the community.
Growing up in Belmont, and attending Cipriani, Ralston, then Carlmont was wonderful, with such great memories of Brownies...Expand for more
, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, and great classmates.
I still like to read, knit, and now for 20 years I have been painting, mostly acrylics on canvas. My father, the architect, was the real artist in our family. But I love that he taught us that art has no rules, so I refrain from judging it and go wild with colors and subliminal messages about kindness and compassion.
I have 14 grandchildren (eeks), and 8 great grandchildren. Truly one lucky lady.
Still live on a little lake, 35 years now, with ducks and fish, etc., and a terrific kayak that I can row and/or paddle. Oh, and now the pontoon boat, quite the favorite entertainment for the family and me.
Life is pretty great. I truly hope that you are all well and happy too. xo
