Jacques Smith:  

After graduating from Wuerzburg in 1981, I attended the University of Texas at El Paso from 1981-1982. After being cut as a walk-on from one of the lousiest football teams in the nation (#109 out of 110 teams, only Columbia was worse), I joined the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft armament systems specialist in 1982 (I loaded bombs, bullets and missiles aboard fighter and bomber aircraft). After Tech School, I was sent to Torrejon Air Base, Spain (outside Madrid), where it's like watching Univision (live, uncut, with no commercial interruptions). Anyway, I met the first wife there and had a son (Jacques, Jr.). When I moved to Eglin AFB (Ft. Walton Beach), FL, things didn't work out, so the ex-wife left "to pursue other interests". While in Florida, I had many new experiences in life. I tried waterskiing, but got sunburnt in the process (there's another myth blown right out the window). I also got my first taste of flying. I also met my 2nd wife there. We had a little girl (Brittany Dawn) on 04 July 1989, along with my son, Shaun. Shortly after that, I transferred to RAF Lakenheath, England, where I lived from 1989-1993. While there, I deployed with F-111F Ardvarks to Taif AB, Saudi Arabia in support of Operation DESERT SHIELD/ DERSERT STORM (I guess this makes up for the Senior Trip I didn't go on to Tunisia back in 1981). While in England, I played semi-pro football with Junior Seau's cousin (the same guy that played for the San Diego Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and now, the New England Patriots). I also checked out Buckingham Palace ansd saw the London Marathon without realizing it. After moving to Fayetteville (Pope AFB), NC in 1993, I ran into some fellow Wolves, like Sheryl Roberts and Ray Roberts (Class of 81) and Ms. All World in Basketball, Diedra Parker (Class of 79).
