Jaime's Story

Life I graduated from East Central University in Ada, OK in May of 1999 with a degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Theatre. I spent 4 years in every Theatre production you can imagine and traveling on a competition Speech and Drama Team as well as led Christian Drama Groups on campus and at church. I interned as a youth director at 2 churches and really enjoyed that. I then moved to Nashville, TN in June of 1999. I met my husband Ed on tour in Christian music and we will be married 4 years on June 23, 2005. We continue to live in Nashville, TN and Ed continues to travel in music, but I made a change to financial services as an independent business owner. I started out in Christian Music in some form of management (road, tour and in management offices), then I wanted to be my own boss, so I started working for myself in financial services (4 years now) and I love it! My husband still travels and loves it. We don't have any children yet, but that is in the plans for the near future. We would like to have four kids and possibly adopt one. We love Nashville and own a home in a suburb called Mount Juliet. We will probably stay here for some time to come and eventually move to Michigan. I have lived in Nashville for 6 years now (love it) and it is hard to believe that I am approaching 10 years since High School. WOW! Ed and I are excited about the future and really look forward to every single day and to what crazy or fun thing will happen! I plan on always being an entreprenuer and we plan on retiring at 40 and starting some organizations and foundations (possibly) and doing a lot of travel. I also plan to continue in theatre. I have taken a bit of a sabatical while growing my business - but look forward to getting back into auditioning and acting within the next few years. Ed wants to become and independent film producer and director as well, so we are always working on knew goals and making ourselves better. That is about all that is happening with us right now. School Biggest Crush? I don't even think I remember that! The teacher that inspired me most? Nancy Counts (Theatre) she was amazing. Still to this day many things she taught me, I carry with me. For instance, she says "if something bothers you, take your 5 minutes to vent and then let it go". I use that advice every single day and pass it on to everyone I meet. Including a lot of musicians. Many say that advice has helped them in amazing ways - I always say - High School Drama and Speech Coach - she knew everything:-) If I could do it all over again will I? Well, since you have to go to high schoo, I don't know that I would have a choice. But, yes - I loved high school! Scariest School Moment - Performing "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" my Junior year in front of the whole school. Especially since no student body had sat through anything of length in years without being extremely rude, but everyone was well behaved and seemed to really enjoy it. Lots of funny and happy moments - don't want to list them all Sam Houston was a great school and I was glad it was where I was able to attend! College College was amazing. I went to ECU in Ada, Oklahoma. I made many lifelong friends and had some of the coolest experiences of my life...Expand for more
. I still keep in touch (close touch) with about 15 college pals. I was a Mass Comm and Theatre student and was a part of every single show we did there. I traveled in Speech and we won a lot of awards. I worked all through college as a seamstress in the costume department and in the Theatre Office. I finished in 4 years and took 18 hours per semester. I had theatre practice every night and was at church the nights I wasn't practicing. I was on staff at two different churches and interned in youth and drama. My pastor from my church in OK was the pastor who married Ed and I and remains as close as a father to this day. Too many silly days to mention. I think the biggest thing that I learned in college was about God and about relationships. College was easy in terms of not much responisibility and you were able to really figure out who you were. At least I did. I left home at 17 and have never looked back. I love my family, but I was way too independent to stay at home. I had to get out and do life on my own. I learned a lot about myself. College didn't prepare me for a job, I think it more prepared me for life in general. I have learned more in seminars, books, work, on tapes, etc than I ever learned in a classroom in college. I would do it again, but I would pay cash:-) Workplace I came to Nashville in 1999 and by July I was working with a Christian comedian and touring with her full time as her tour/road manager. I loved it - sooo much fun. That is also where I met my husband. From there in 2001 I moved on to work with DC Talk in their management offices and really enjoyed that as well. I was there until I could get my business to a point that I could go full time. In November of 2002, I went full time and have never looked back. I work with Primerica Financial Services, a member of Citigroup. My office is in Nashville and Ed and I will be promoted to Vice President within the next 18 months. Basically I help families get debt free and financially independent. I do investments, Long Term Care, Term Life Insurance, Mortgages, Emergency Funds, 401K Rollovers, etc. I love what I do, because not only do I make a great income, but I also help so many people. I help them find hope, dig out of a financial hole and get on the road to financial security. I am amazed every single day at what PFS offers me. Ed and Love this business and what it will provide our family for years to come. We have become the catalyst for change in our families and that is very exciting. This is where we have planted our flag. He continues to travel (probably for another 2 years or so) and then he will work with me in the office until we have it where we want it to be - running without us... then comes a new chapter in our lives! Military No military background, except I got accepted into the Naval Academy (with congressional appointment) and lost it because of the Powder Puff Game of May 2, 1995. I messed up my knee so bad, I couldn't pass the physcial. But, I believe that was God's divine intervention. I wouldn't be where I am today. I do however have a brother -in-law, John in Iraq and my brother Abraham just left for basic training for the Army. So we are proud of them and pray every day for their safety!
