James (Jim)'s Story
Life
Attended Lamar Tech (Now Lamar State Univeersity) 1960-61. AA Business Moorpark College Ca 1976, took upper level Business Courses Calif St. Northridge (CSUN)through 1978.
USMC 1961-67. Infantry, Communications, Electronics
Worked TRW, Govt, Litton, ATT, and currently Govt employed again in the areas of Electronics, (30 yrs) and Contracts(9 yrs). Retired from Federal Civil Service NAWC Pt. Mugu Ca. in July 2004. Presently single living in Camarillo Ca.
School
I remember having a secret crush on Linda Woods at Edison Jr High. My times growing up in San Angelo, going to San Jacinto elementary and Edison Jr High have been some of the happiest times of my life.
Military
Qualified for Marine PLC (A) program after High School graduation. After 1 yr college @Lamar State University enlisted in regular USMC May 1961. After Recruit training reported to D co 1st Bn 1st Marine 1st Marine Division and started Marine Corps with a Machine gunners MOS. D 1/1 transplaced to 3rd Marine Div in 1962

became M co 3rd bn 3rd Marines. Later transferred to H&S Co. 3rd Bn 3rd Marines Message Center. After Cuban Missle Crisis returned to US as H&S Co. 2nd Bn 7th Marines Msg Center. Extend enlistment and went to C&E Bn MCRD San Diego to retrain in electronics 1963. Graduated Radio Relay Repair Course 1964 and was assigned Repair Co, Repair Div, Yermo Annex Marine Corps Supply Center. We provided Depot level repair support to FMF in Vietnam.
Served 1 year in 2nd Bn 23rd Marines H&S Communications in 1977-78.
Enlisted in Air National Guard 147th Combat Communications Squadron 1982 as wideband Microwave technician. Also saw duty during the forest fires of 1987. Later transferred to C co 240th Sig Bn. Ca. Army National Guard. Led security team during the LA Riots of 1992. Transferred to 261st Combat Comm Sq. 1993. Retired after ORI of 1997.
Decorations: USMC National Defense Serv Medal, USMC Good Conduct Medal, USAF Outstanding Achievement Medal (2 awards), NCO Effeciency Medal Ca Army National Guard.
