James's Story
It has been many years sinnce I saw or spoke to anyone from my class of '69. During High School I made many friends and some of them became a dissapointment to me. For instance, one of my classmates and I worked at a pizza parlor. This friend was kind of a bully if you were a bit smaller than him. Almost every night this guy would take $20 plus for all of us employes to enjoy some drinking. I protested but to no avail. Unfortuatley, I also fell into that trap. But not for long. is pretty wife goodbye. As we recognised each other, I felt a nasty vibe as he held the gun and my long hair was just another potential convict in the way. If you are out there, you know who I am talking about.
Other than that nasty stuff, I've been doing well after completing a BS and an MS in agriculture at UK and OSU. Been self emloyed since 1980 with 3 children, all successful. My youngest lady is at OU in education. My 2nd son has graduated OU in 3 yrs and is employed in LA as a computer grapics layout specialist. Our oldest and his wife are both working on their PhD's in engineering, both with a National Science Foundation grant.
My wife still works in upper level management for an Insurance co. I'm pretty much retired and will take a job if it is worthwhile. However, there is not much demand for people with my talents as much has gone by way of genetic engineering
