James's Story
Life
I left Burke in June of 1981 for the pacific northwest. I attended school and worked in a bar at night at one of Seattles best saloons.( FX McRory's for anyone who has been to Seattle.) After several years of this I figured out that while spending my life in a bar was great fun, I wasn't getting rich. So in 1985, on a dare from a co-worker I took the Seattle Police civil service test. Suprise! I scored high enough to claim a spot in the academy. I figured I must have an aptitude for this kind of work. Those who remember me from LBSS would agree that I did not have much of an aptitude for any other kind of work so I took the department up an their offer of employment and found it to be a pretty wise decision. hen accepted on my departments SWAT team. I spent 5 years on the team. ( 1992-1997)I somehow survived my experience in SWAT and was promoted to Sergeant in 1997. I then became the superviser of an undercover narcotics task force of police and DEA agents that operated in Western Washington. Today I am a patrol superviser in the downtown area of Seattle. ( I'll bet you feel safer already!) I have been married to my wife Lisa since June of 1992. She is a retired executive from Microsoft who is now a proud stay at home mom. We have two boys, Jack (6) and Peter (4). We live in a suburb of Seattle named Medina. I have had several visits from some of my high school pals, Mike Garretson and his family and Jules Clifford to name a few. I am looking forward to the weekend festivities in July. I am sure it will be a great time.
