James's Story

Life Last month I celebrated my fifty fourth birthday. In March of 2002, I retired from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, where I served for seventeen years. My total county service consisted of thirty-one years. In addition, to my county career, I have owned a few businesses during the past fifteen years. Consulting has been my primary business interest. Recently I partnered with some friends in trucking and warehousing business. I broker shipments around the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Asia and Europe. Our primary business is delivering and picking up containers from the Long Beach and L.A. harbors. My wife and I have six children and nine grand children. My ...Expand for more
oldest son is thirty-four years old. He is a Homicide investigator with the Los Angeles Police Department. My two youngest children are in college, my son is attending USC and my daughter is at Fullerton College. My wife is a Human Resources Manager for Los Angeles County. She is planning to retire in three to five years. Our plans are to travel and spend time at our vacation home. My mother still lives in Norwalk, in the home where I grew up. This gives me the opportunity to visit Norwalk on a frequent basis. To all the classmates of 1966 to 1969 I pray that you achieve your goals and never stop dreaming; and may the years ahead be healthy and prosperous. James Arenas
