James's Story
Life
As some of my friends from school know... In our junior year I joined the Army National Guard. After completing my military training in 1992, I got married and moved to Tennessee for a few years. In 1995 I transferred from the National Guard to active service in the Army as a medic. I became divorced after having a daughter (no she was not the reason for the divorce).
In 1997, while stationed at Fort Bliss (El Paso), Texas, I met a wonderful woman with three children. We were married in 1999.

In February of 2001 I was ordained a minister. I donÂt preach to anyone out of church, so IÂll spare you the details.
In August of 2002 I suffered a career ending injury. I could no longer be a soldier, so I vacated the position that I was in so someone physically able could pick up where I left off.
I tried my hand at teaching for a semester at a tech school. I taught "Medical Assisting". I discovered that it was not for me. I was a receptionist for a tax preparation office. Once again it was not for me.
I am currently the State Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Rhode Island.
