James's Story
Hello to all who graduated St. Rita HS. 1965.St. Rita prepared me well for my next step in life, I joined the United States Marine Corps a year after graduation. After all of my training, I volunteered to go to Nam and do what a good Marine does!! Our platoon was located in the north and close to the DMZ. After 4 months, I was hit twice, once by a mortar round and then by our 105 howitzer.Long story short, I arrived back at Great Lakes Hospital as a paraplegic and almost lost my right arm. th drop foot in both feet. After the Corps retired me, My high school sweetheart married me and we are still married today after 52 years of some tough time but many great times. Now we have 3 kids, 10 Grand kids and 1 great grand daughter! I managed to get into printing and loved it. I own a good size large format printing company in Woodridge, Il. called Phoenix-Veterans Print and at 72 years old I work 5+ days a week!
