James's Story
Life
I've been out of college for a little over two years now and busy with the 9 to 5. Not having to study is great, although not being able to hang out with friends every day is the only downside...but that's what the weekends are for. Anyone want to learn how to fly-fish? I do a lot of that in my free time. Life's pretty good.
School
I remember being voted the most quietest in high school. If anyone could have seen me before I moved to AA County! I have a few notes that read "James continues to distract his fellow students and burp out loud". Thanks to Mr. Miller in middle school for helping to inspire my scientific side. Met a lot of nice people/friends along the way.
College
Started off with two years at AACC and looking back, it was a nice transit...Expand for more
ion from high school to U of MD, College Park. The first thing I remember about AACC was no bells...I thought that was the greatest. Things got tougher at MD, but it's all about persistence. What a relief when it was over! Met some more good friends along the way. Plus, now I can say "actually, it does take a rocket scientist to figure it out".
Workplace
Since I graduated from U of MD, I've been employed by the DOD (US Navy) as a civilian. Being the pyro I am, I guess I got my wish. I'm currently working on both the Sparrow and Tomahawk missile programs down in Charles County (NSWC Indian Head). I won't begin to tell you about my hour drive to work! It's a good job that has some pretty cool benefits. Hopefully, I'll get to do more traveling in the future.
