James's Story

Present endeavours: SeeWhyLearning.com An online exam preparation business catering to the financial services industry (Life license, Securities, Mutual Funds, etc.) and also for Ontario Real Estate. We make sure people pass their licensing exams. Many years have passed since BBCI and the "old" Base Borden. Recent visits to the Base are a big discouraging as it is not as pristine as it used to be. Miss the Malt Shop and the security of the Base itself. We had it good then but didn't really appreciate what we had. Here we are many years later, although the time has passed quickly with many changes in all our lives. Did you land up doing what you thought you would be doing? I know I didn't. Past President from a company I co-founded (partner deceased) and was eventually acquired by a merger-acquisition ... but I still am active in the same industry. Online provider of continuing education to the life insurance and financial services industry in Canada (FinancialServicesTrainingCourses.com) My wife, Maggie, has been retired for a few years now and is busier than ever doing many things, like RibbonBlankies . com and member of BookCrossing . com (one of the highest participants in Canada). She now only has one sibling left, a brother with spinal encephalitis (paraplegic), parents deceased, after her 2 younger sisters passed a...Expand for more
way last year within 2 weeks of each other (one had colon cancer and the other Muscular Dystrophy since birth). Living in Barrie in a townhouse condo with the newest love of our life, Tunku, a rescued Greyhound (see pics in album) or on Tunku-RoyalPrince.com or SouthSimcoeGreys . com I see that some old friends are retired now, some working, many/most I don't know what has happened to them over the years. Being an army brat multi-year friends were hard to maintain. We lived in 13 homes and I went to 13 schools over the years before my father retired in '68. He passed away while working for CMHC, at age 59 from a brain tumour. Never really sick a day in his life, we lost him so quickly (6 months). My mother is still going strong at 84 and living in Stittsville just outside Ottawa. Hope I inherited her genes! Son, Armand, working and living in Toronto. Daughter, Carissa, moved from Toronto to Ottawa. Daughter, Leanna, married with 3 sons, living in Waterloo. Sister, Suzanne, married and in Kingston. Sister, Denise, married and living in Nepean (Ottawa). Sister, Beverly, living in Kanata (Ottawa). Brother, David, married and living in Carlton Place. Brother, Paul, married and living in Melbourne, Australia. All younger than me. Always looking for old friends from Borden: Murray and Al Derbyshire, Tom St. Denis, and others.

Really need an explanation: Maybe I just don't understand about the COVID-19 (lastest Corona virus) but why is everybody stocking up on Toilet Paper? This is a respiratory virus, not gastrointestinal. Kleenex should be run
We don't want COVID-19 to get even close to these U.S. stats for the seasonal flu.

So you went to Costco or the grocery store and got your 14 day supply of toilet paper.

Two cool guys from the 70s.
Who grew up with one of these in the 60s? Considering the cost and income at the time, $929.95 would be about $5600 today. This was a big investment!
In 1962 the Jetsons predicted future healthcare ... and here we are!
