Sir, Ma'am, I served 30 years in the U.S. Air Force defending America and I know that freedom isn't free! Thomas Jefferson stated: The tree of liberty must be watered with blood of every generation. Many of my friends serving in the military have died defending Americas freedom. If we do not use our freedom to defend our freedom, we will loose our freedom. America is now losing its freedom with breath taking speed and only a small portion of Americans are starting to speak out while the rest of the people are standing in mute silence allowing it to happen! So many people have shed their blood to preserve the freedom our founding fathers gave to us! Why are we allowing it to be taken from us? Do we want our children and grandchildren to live in a Socialist nation? A large portion of my 30 years in the military was during the height of the Cold War defending America against the Soviet Union. When the Soviet Union fell apart we believed that America had won the Cold War! America was founded as a Constitutional Republic, with a capitalist free market form of economy. Sadly it is from all appearances quickly becoming a socialist nation. So it looks like the Soviet Union for all intents and purposes won the Cold War after all! Recently, Pravda, the leading Communist newspaper from Russia carried the mocking headline;American Capitalism Gone with a Whimper. The first paragraph labels the Americans as hapless sheep. Many modern day countries, such as France and Denmark, have some form of Socialism so it wouldnt be correct to say Socialism is dead. Soviet-Era Socialism is dead and let me say I do hope it stays that way. Americas perspective of Socialism came only from the fascist states of Nazi Germany and Cold War communist countries. In 2009 the United States Congress passed the largest spending bill in American history without reading it. The American people did not even complain about what Congress did! Where is the money coming from to pay these trillions of dollars? You, your children and grandchildren are going to pay it; we are rapidly becoming economic slaves to the government of the United States without a whimper of protest. The American people asked Congress to stop bailing out failed, corrupt and greedy business.and we were ignored! We are asking government to solve the problems that they created in the first place. Congress has bailed out everyone but us..the tax payer! Our forefathers had a Boston Tea Party because they considered taxation without representation to be absolutely unacceptable. The American people must call for a spending freeze until Congress has time to read the legislation they are passing that presently guarantees the future of our children to live in a socialist nightmare that so many American heroes have died to avoid. We must demand that Congress balance the budget and do what most of us do.live within our means. Our money does not belong to Congress, it belongs to us. Until we the people speak up and stand up nothing will change. Timothy Geithner didnt pay taxes for four years, he had not paid $35,000 in self-employment taxes and blamed it on turbo-tax. Geithner was given a top cabinet job in the Obama administration. He was sworn in as Treasury Secretary by Vice President Joe Biden and witnessed by President Obama. If you or I had done this with our taxes, we would have been sent to prison. So much for equal justice under the law. Immigrants can come to America - just do it legally! Between 12 and 20 million illegal immigrants are estimated to be living in the United States; due to the nature of illegal immigration, the exact number is unknown. Their presence means every provision designed to extend health coverage to those without insurance will potentially expand taxpayers costs by billions of dollars. Many illegal immigrant households have children who are automatically eligible for government health care, even if their parents are here illegally.
