Now Then,,,Wow has time gone by since we were all rounded up together in that little dingy, dusty,and windy old high school of ours, huh? Things have really changed with the passing of decades of time for all of us no doubt, Even with all the crazy crap that I have been thru and lived thru Im so happy to be able to write this today.
Well anyone that knew me well back then knew that I left that crazy place we all called home back in 1979 moved down to LA after getting busted for growing major pot plants in Coalinga on the Tully Ranch with Robin Tully and I just never realy looked back for a long long time .
My brother Willy and sister Suzy are now known as "Frank" and "Suzy",Ones a "plumber", and the other is a born again christain". hav'nt really been "present" to talked with for many years, but I recently reunited with my sister in salinas , shes doing great and looking even better :):):):):)
Any ways Im sure we've all gone thru changes, trials, tribulations and lifes ups and downs. Im certainly no exception to that, but hey heres something most people didnt know specialy back then , but there are a few who did :0:0:0,,shhhhhhhhh!!!, truth is that I am "gay", and Im not ashamed to say it. I came out back in 1980 with my family and lived that life for a while, got bored as I always did back then with life, tried the straight life . you know the lets get married even though Im gay and make kids thing for about 5 years , that didnt keep my interest to long, the kids did but she didnt (go figure Huh?)
I'm living in the Santa Cruz area (Aptos)in a typical 4 bedroom beach kind of place. I live with my life partner and my two boys Jarrod Dylan Doss and Keifer Rhain Doss, ages 14 and 12 years, All three of them mean the world to me,
My partner is from Canada ( Nova Scotia)he's 10 years younger than me, a total vegan and just as shy and nice a man I could ever wish forare planning a wedding here in Aptos next October on the 11th now that the courts have given us the ability to do so :):):):). so please vote yes on the next same sex marriage initiatives. Equal rights for everyone!!!!
My boys are two totaly cool skateboard nuts and surfing daredevils, Im teaching them to surf and theres no rules there for any of us, They are very proud of their two gay dads.( Gotta love the liberal lifestyle of Santa Cruz) their mother,Michelle Stienbach, is from King City and lives in Florida.Jarrod's a youth group leader at Twin Lakes church, Keifer just hangs out here at home or with his friends here at the beach.
So hey check this out, I finaly cleaned up my act and have been clean and sober for almost two years now. I know all that may be hard to fathom, but no more "7/11 store stoner" syndrome for me and I am finaly truley happy in life. Life is sooooooo gooooood. Do you realize I partied that way for all these years? I'm just lucky to be alive aren't I?
Things are kinda weird now cuz most for you guys, your kids are all grown up, but not mine,but I do have a daughter who lives down in San Marcos Ca.thats 28 years old Nicole Marie Doss, shes really diggin here gay da alot these days What an angel :):):)but my boys are still Jr High and High school here in the Santa Cruz School distri, We do a lot of skateboarding , bikeing, surfing and all that Santa Cruz stuff.
Ive been living here since 1996 and for me this is the place. So any how im staying pretty much physicly fit 6foot tall still under two hundred pounds (195lbs) but geez the hair is going fast. Ok I lied 201 Lbs but thats not bad !!!!!!
Started back to school to obtain state and federal certification in addiction and recovery counciling . Gonna try and be of service to people like myself with the disease o...Expand for more
f addiction.Finaly give back to this world in my own way to help others, Just graduated in May 08 with a 4.0 average ,, Cool huh !!!!
So Im working at one of the local re-hab treatment centers for alcoholism and drug addiction as a clinical tech ( assistant counselor) full time now and life is good !!!!!

School
Debbie Williams from Greenfield was my biggest crush back then man she was a HOTTIE.but dumped me on my 17th birthday thru a drive thru window at that burger place in greenfield :(:( She was smart even back then eh? , Mr Goenne was my favorite teacher, now he was cool, I loved biology and all that science stuff and then theres Mr Campbell (Lab Science), was he just to friggen funny or what?., If I could do High School all over again?Hell yah I'd do it again,ya know if I knew then what I know now? :):):)One of the funniest things that ever happened was Ditching 7th period with Vince Arness and driving down main street in front of the school right by the bus shed with both of us ducking down in our seats as we drove by so not to be seen in my old yellow and black mustang by the principle who was walking on the sidewalk (whatever his name was) while Led Zepplin was blasting on the stereo full blast, and yes we did get busted for that one.Or how about showing up drunk with Scott Brown for auto shop one morning(1st and 2cnd period) and getting kicked out by Mr Arness. Of course there was that toilet in the boys restroom near B wing that got blown up with a M-80 firecracker ! Oh those were the days huh??????
College
went to long beach city and state 1981 thru 1985. Found school wasnt as boring in the big citys . Automotive/vocational type majors but what the heck that beat the hell outta Mr Arness and auto Shop huh? Loved all the chemistry courses naturaly that was where I had the most success. And who didnt love all the hot looking girls/guys that were in school there in the big city, I know I did for sure.Didnt you????
Workplace
Had so many careers/jobs after long beach . Worked for mercedes benz dealership in Hermosa Beach Ca. as well as other independent mercedes benz repair stores for about 9 years lost that career to a huge cocaine and Methamphetamine addiction, but loved those cars and those jobs just the same still do !!!! .Did all kinds of other work around LA and Orange county. Lived in Hollywood,Long Beach, Anehiem, City of Orange , Hunnington Beach, Sunset Beach even Malibu, that was all between 1980 thru 1992. then I moved back to Arroyo Seco where I grew up as a carefree skinny dippin teenager. I worked as a radio disc jockey back in King City for two years in 1991 and 1992(remember that)on KLUE 106.3 FM as JImi D ( now that was fun). finaly after way too many more partying days settled here in Santa Cruz Ca. working at University Of California, Santa Cruz as a lead cook assistant chef . Now I work at Seascape Natural Foods, it's a very chic and expensive organic and natural food's grocery and deli here In Santa Cruz Ca. The way I do work is like this , I work less then I should, and more than I like (LOL)But today I'm just raising my boys and enjoying life totaly to the fullest. Doing a pretty big amount of volunteer work with the homeless shelters and with the Santa Cruz Gay Familys Center., But with all that work ethic in mind , Im doing just fine.
I have a realy super life-partner (lover) and my kids . we live in La Selva Beach and spend our time watching them grow up, ride waves,skim board and skate board, Gods country and enjoying a hella sweet life right here in Santa Cruz Calif.
