James's Story
Alright, I hate filling these things in...geeze, how to account for 30 freakin' years? Well, after I graduated Edison, I went to Old Dominion University, where I studied Sociology and Criminal Justice. I graduated in 1982. In 1983, I went to work for the Federal Government...first with the Navy Department in Crystal City, then with the Defense Logistics Agency in Alexandria, then with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which is now located in Alexandria. I am currently a Writer/Editor...I work on documents and materials that support Patent Examiners in their work to grant or reject patent applications. Most of what I do goes straight online, which is fun and exciting. No really, it is! :-)
I am single and liking it that way. I live with two cats...Sieggy and Roy and a cocketiel, Kokopelli. All are great company. They keep my schedule which I appreciate. :-)
I am in my second home, a condo, which I bought in 2003. I live just outside the town of Occoquan, which I can walk to in about 5 minutes. I live on the water, next door to the Prince William Marina, so it's pretty scenic.

o Europe...someday I hope. I am not starving, I am warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I have change in my pockets...though with gas prices climbing, that might become less common. I have good friends and the love of my family, all of whom are still relatively close by. I have lots of interests which will tied me through, long beyond retirement age, which, as of this posting, is in approximately 8 years (and counting!).
On a sad note, my beloved Mother passed away in '99 after a short battle with cancer. She was truly a wonderful lady and I miss her every day. My Dad, at 81, is doing fine. He lives in a condo across the street from me, so I can check in on him. :-)
There is more, but my wrists are starting to get sore...carpal tunnel...the bane of the internet-savvy generation. :-)
Before I go, just wanted to say stop by and say hello. Leave a note and ask for my email since they seem to filter personal contact info out here. I will respond, though I have to say I am lazy about actually going out anywhere, since sleeping is my number one hobby. ;-) Everyone stay cool...here's wishing you happiness, peace, joy, and prosperity. We can all certainly use a little of those in our lives. :-)
