James Elswick:  

Life Senior Chief Elswick left Pontiac, Michigan to enlist in the Navy in June 1990, He completed recruit training at Recruit Training Center San Diego, CA, and transferred to Naval Air Technical Training Center Millington, Tennessee, for initial training as an Aviation Support Equipment Technician (AS). ASAN Elswick reported for his first tour of duty in March 1991 to Naval Support Activity Naples, Italy Detachment Capodichino. AS2 Elswck’s first sea duty assignment began in June 1996 when he reported to America’s Big Stick, USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), home ported in Norfolk, VA, deploying twice to the Mediterranean Sea and Persian Gulf in support of NATO Operation ALLIED FORCE/Joint Task Force NOBLE ANVIL and Operation SOUTHER WATCH. In June 2000 AS1 Elswick became an instructor at Naval Air Technical Training Center Pensacola Fl.
