James's Story
Life
After Knapp graduation, I enrolled in UNC Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler School of Business; then joined the Navy and married. Served at Norfolk, Alaska, and Japan, returned to UNC and graduated with GI Bill assistance. Have been an electronics technician with the State of NC for 30 years, and soon to retire. I have a daughter and a son, and 3 grandchildren.

Workplace
I had been an Office Manager for construction companies for several years, and then used the military training in electronics to pursue a career in being a technician for the University system (UNC-Chapel Hill and UNCG).
Military
Dad recommended I get technical training while in the Navy so I signed for 6 years active duty, to include advanced electronics schools at Great Lakes and Pensacola. All of military service was in the Naval Security Group and I had no shipboard tour.
