James's Story
Life
After leaving school in 94 moved back to Eddystone,Mb. and farmed with my dad for about five years. was invloved in a major TA as a passenger. Became tired of farming then got my class 1A liscence and went on the road with TransX Trucking. After a few years I decided to get my own truck. After the border was closed to Canadian beef I wasnt making enough money to keep up payments on truck and later declared bankruptcy. then moved back to Brandon and was driving for Smooth Freight hauling double trailers from Brandon to Winnipeg. trucking in Brandon driving from Brandon to Calgary,Ab. and back once a week. Left that job to move back to Eddystone and am currently building an addition onto my house. I am married to a very sweet woman I met while working with TransX as an Owner/Operator.
UPDATE: I moved to a small oil town in south western manitoba called Waskada in October of 2007. I decided to leave the trucking industry for now and am now doing physical labor to get back into shape. I took on a job at the Deloraine Co-op for half of what I was making on the road but I do enjoy my job as yard man and I am home every night.
