James's Story
Life
Lived in Iowa for a few years; worked as a baker for a while, then joined the Navy. Boot camp at Great Lakes IL, schools in CA and CT. Stationed in Virginia, Hawai`i (three years - hated it!), Scotland (almost three years - loved it!), Virginia again, and Connecticut. US Navy 3/82-9/03: USS Olympia (SSN 717), USS Simon Lake (AS 33), USS Jacksonville (SSN 699), USS Providence (SSN 719). Puerto Rico, St Croix, Canada (BC and NS), Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, Guam, UK (three years in Scotland!), Portugal, Spain, Norway, Italy, Greece, Dubai, Bahrain, France, Gibraltar, Slovenia. Great while it lasted, but I'm glad it's over!!
