Life My mother died suddenly when I was 14 and my subsequent teenage years were a disaster. I attended three high schools and was expelled from two of them. At one point I was barred from attending any school in New York state, so I went to El Paso, Texas, for a year. I passed by a narrow margin that year. I didn't graduate from high school. I dropped out in senior year--genius that I was at that time. If you knew me in high school you saw me smoking pot on and off school property, or taking up space in Mr. Levy's office. I played in bands around Rocky Point, NY, most often at the Sons Of Italy and private parties. I got a G.E.D. in 1975, then sobered up at age 30.
