James's Story
Life
Let's see 20 years in 4000 words or less...guess the year is 1986 I graduated from A.J. Dimond High School and went right into the army. Spent the next 3 years at Wiesbaden Air Base in Germany as a medic at the local health clinic. Best to say hi to AR, Sgt. Galloway and Curet, Cas, Robby, etc. all then jump back into 1990 when I got out of active duty. At this time I will not go over those "single years" as it is top secret information (well at least until my kids are 21, so they can not use it against me). Returned to my home state of Colorado where I met and married the first woman to pick me at the bar, actually it's true. I met my wife, Laura, in Colorado and we got married on Halloween 1990. Then for a Christmas gift we found out we were expecting our first son, Nick, at the same time Uncle Sam welcomed me back into the army. I was with the 220th MP company and was called up for Operation Desert Storm / Shield. I ended up working at an EPW camp near Hafer al batin. Saw so much and did to much to fit into this space.
The war was a quick one by modern standards with deployment in January and back in April. I got to return to my normal job as an EMT with Fitzsimons Army Hospital. I stayed there until 1993 when I voluntarily went back to the Army as a medic and we got a chance to travel around. First stop was Georgia and Ft. Stewart, I was with the tankers of 1/64 armor (quick shout out to Sgt. Morales). Next to Germany and another health clinic this time at Hohenfels, which was a great experience since my wife, son, and I got to live on the economy (ok a hi to Barbara, Peter, and their families). Laura, Nick, and I got to travel all over and take part in festivals, volksmarches, travel on the Rhein River. We saw King Ludwigs castles, ate some incredible food, and really had a wonderful couple of years. 1997 we had enough playing army and came home to work with the family business in Colorado.

duals with Developmental Disabilities. Learned so much about people and the courage of these special individuals. Still three years within the social services field after a decade in the medical field left me ready for something new. The big blessing during this time was the birth of our second son, Nathaniel, in 1998. I can not say enough about my two sons, they are both bright, gifted, and have brought so much to my life. 2000 was a bit of a nomadic year for us as we relocated to Georgia and then to Dallas.
In Dallas I worked security for Mary Kay Inc. and I had no idea just how big of a company that was until then. Of course hi to David, Steve, Josh, and everyone back there. I was there for 6 years before my feet got restless again. Some of the many things that we experienced in Dallas was working with the Paralyzed Veterans of America, taking part in the MS 150 Bike Ride, being part of The Colony Chamber of Commerce, and doing videos for The Library of Congress  Veterans History Project (15 videos in all). I finished up my associated degree in Texas. While there we also won a trip from the local jazz station and spent 4 days and 3 nights in Cozumel Mexico. I would love to go into it but I would have to change the names and situations to protect the innocent, let's just say ÂWOW we had fun.
2006 moved to Broomfield, Colorado and I am currently working for Allied Barton at Sun Microsystems. Getting ready for the big 40 and actually looking forward to it. I am starting on my BA since I figured I need something to do now that I am grown up. My goal is to teach social studies in middle school. Helping out a bit with the family non-profit Harmony Angels taking pictures (at some point in the last decade I did a bit of work as a portrait photographer) and delivering flowers to nursing homes during Mothers Day. Laura and I have just in the last week taken up some ballroom dance lessons and are having some fun. Hard to image my boys are now 15 and 9 years old. L
