James's Story
Life
After High School I went to WSU (BSME and BSEE) and worked in Wichita at MidContinent Instrument till 1974. I moved to Olathe in 1974 and worked for King Radio till 1983. In 1983 I started working for Bendix in Kansas City, Mo. During that period I attended Rockhurst College (MBA) and moved to Overland Park. In 1977 I moved to Pleasanton California for a temporary job assignment with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Helen, my wife, chose to stay in Overland Park and shortly after that we were divorced. In 1999 I stated working for Coherent Star, a Medical Laser Design and Manufacturing company, located in Pleasanton. They recently merged with another company and became Lumenis and then closed the R&D facility in Pleasanton and combined it with the Santa Clara R&D group in Santa Clara California. We are now mostly a Research ...Expand for more
and Development group and design lasers and light sources used in the Surgical, Ophthalmology, Vet, Dental and Aesthetic Medical Markets.
I was married for 25 yrs and we have three children. All children live in this area, which is very nice for me..:) Jon (24- lives in LA), Emily (28-lives in Oakland attends UCSF) and Spencer (18-lives with me and attends SFSU) Helen still lives in Overland Park. I live a few walking blocks East of little downtown Pleasanton. Pleasanton is a very nice small community, could be described as a quaint community. In my spare time Spencer and I SCUBA dive and I do some hiking, the rest of my spare time is in single parenting and working. All three kids are a joy in my life and I consider myself very blessed to have them close by. Feel free to email me or give me a call I'm in the book.. Take Care, Jim
